Match Results Round 11
This was an important game for the East Sunbury's top side taking on ladder leader in Rupertswood, after bowling first we bowled them out for 180 with Jessy Carroll taking 3 wickets. It was a mixed performance with the bat after East’s go away to a great start with all top three batsman getting starts but they were not quite good enough to get the win falling 15 runs short. This is the bench mark and now with Ashfield next week this makes this game an important one for the context of the finals.
East’s took on Blackwood and bowled first after bowling Blackwood out for 198 with Cody McDorman taking 3 wickets. After a shaky start it was the East Sunbury top order which git the job done with Lee Cart 49, Burke Davidson 31. This was a great win for the boys and the undefeated run continues with East easily on top of the ladder in D Grade.
East travelled to Romsey with a bolstered side and got off to a great start bowling out Romsey for 98 with Lachlan Bramble, Lachlan Wilkins and Dino Ivancic all taking two wickets each. East chased down the runs quickly and with Steve Grey making 45. With time and runs to spear East went for the out right and Captain Callum Leaver made the right call as Romsey fell apart being bowled out for only 29, Steve Grey took 5 wickets and Easts take full points. This helps to keep East in the finals race.
East played at home at Gladstone Park, after losing the toss and bowled first they were set the large target of 341 with Andy McLellan taking three wickets. To the East boys credit they never gave up and had a good crack at the large total with Brad Bernacki 66. East’s were all bowled out for 186 but very proud of this young team for having a go.
